Dear Honorable __________:

I am writing to urge your support for House Concurrent Resolution 35 offered
by Rep. Lynn Woolsey of California. Now that Iraq has held national
elections to rebuild their government, US troops can only be considered an
occupying force attempting to impose the will of the US government on the
Iraqi people.

Almost 1,500 US troops have been killed and over 10,000 have been wounded in
this war and occupation. Further the economic costs have been far greater
than promised. The burden in lives and resources has grown far more than we
can bear.

Finally, as a nation we were told that we had to send our sons and
daughters, brothers and sisters, and parents and friends to Iraq to fight a
government that posed an imminent threat with weapons of mass destruction
and that had strong ties to the people that attacked the World Trade Center
on September 11th. Both of these claims have turned out to be untrue.
Therefore, there can be no reason for us to remain in Iraq and to endure the
pain of losing more loved ones.

Sincerely,
