Chapter By-Laws

Veterans For Peace - Washtenaw County Chapter By-Laws

Article 1: Name
1. The Name of the Chapter shall be Veterans For Peace - Washtenaw County Chapter.


Article 2: Officers
1. Function - The Officers will perform the normal business of the Chapter, and manage the affairs of the Chapter between Chapter meetings.

2. Number - Chapter Officers shall consist of a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.

3. Election/Term of Office - Officers shall be elected at the Chapter December meeting by Full members of the Chapter membership and serve for a one year term of office effective January 1st.

4. Eligibility - Officers of the Chapter shall be Full members of Veterans For Peace.

5. Chair - The Chair shall supervise the activities of the Chapter and preside at meetings.

6. Vice Chair - The Vice-Chair shall preside at in the absence of the Chair.

7. Treasurer - The Treasurer shall be in charge of the receipt and disbursement of all fund of the Chapter. The Treasurer will give a financial statement (in person or in writing) at each Chapter meeting.

8. Secretary - The Secretary shall keep minutes of all Chapter meetings and assist the Chair/Vice-Chair with Chapter correspondence

9. Vacancy - Any vacancy of an Officer position shall be filled for the balance of the term of office by an election of the majority of Full Veterans For Peace members at a Chapter meeting.

10. Membership Status - Full membership denotes a person is a military veteran according to Veterans For Peace national membership records.


Article 3: Meetings
1. Meetings of the Chapter will be held on a monthly basis
